With official authorization, Torex Gold has resumed activities such as underground and open-pit mining, in addition to the processing of materials and the advancement of the Media Luna Project . The company’s president and CEO, Jody Kuzenko, highlighted that this return is special in order to achieve the annual production objectives, which are estimated between 450,000 and 470,000 ounces of gold by 2024.

This underground development represents an expansion in the company’s production capabilities, while strengthening its strategic position in the mining sector.

The Media Luna Project is located on the opposite bank of the Balsas River from the El Limón Guajes Complex ( ELG ) and is expected to generate a contribution to gold and other mineral reserves in the coming years. In addition, this expansion underlines the company’s commitment to sustainability and technological innovation in the industry.

The company has strengthened its safety protocols and maintains a proactive approach to prevent incidents in the future. “ This resumption of operations takes place in a context of reflection and renewed commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of all our workers and collaborators ,” said Kuzenko.

Since commencing commercial operations in 2016, Torex Gold has consolidated its position as a leading player in gold mining in Mexico, with a focus on operational excellence and social responsibility. The Morelos Complex, which covers an area of 29,000 hectares, is a testament to the company’s ability to manage comprehensive projects in one of the most promising gold belts in the world.

With the reactivation of activities and the progress of the Media Luna Project, Torex Gold strengthens its commitment to contribute to local economic development, while positioning itself as a leader in responsible and sustainable mining.
