Subsequently, he held a diplomatic position representing Mexico before international organizations such as the OECD, the International Energy Agency, the UN and OPEC From 2019 to 2021 he held the position of Director General of Development in the National Content Unit of the Ministry of Economy He currently holds the position of Vice Chair for Mexico in the group of experts on extractive industries of the UN UNECE and executive director of the UN center of excellence for sustainable resource management (Water, Oil and Gas, Sustainable Energy) for Mexico and Latin America.

Israel Hurtado, President of the Mexican Association of Hydrogen and Sustainable Mobility

Israel Hurtado is a renowned writer, speaker and consultant on energy and sustainability, he has stood out for promoting renewable energy, green hydrogen and sustainability. Israel Hurtado has led the Mexican Hydrogen Association since late 2020, and is an energy industry veteran who has worked at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), the Energy Secretariat (Sener) and the Commission Energy Regulatory Agency (CRE), where he was commissioner from 2006 to 2011. A lawyer by profession, in addition to his work in the Mexican Hydrogen Association, Hurtado is a partner of the Sustainable Energy consultancy, focused on promoting the development of the industry through energy infrastructure projects, and is Acting President of the Mexican Academy of Energy Law.
