This Wednesday, April 20, at 6:00 p.m. (Houston / Colombia time) Inspenet TV will broadcast a special interview with Gerald Brown, president of Brown Corrosion Services, Inc., who will be exchanging technical experiences in corrosion with Inspenet’s director of operations , Eng. Antonio Zavarce.
Brown is a mechanical engineer, graduated from UCLA, and has a great international career in the oil field. He has worked in the United States, Australia, Singapore, Greece, Mexico, Venezuela, Nigeria, Angola, Malaysia, and Brunei. He has been a member of NACE for 50 years and in 1994 founded his company Brown Corrosion Services, Inc., of which he serves as president.
In this special interview, Brown will tell us about his technical experiences; frequent problems caused by corrosion, how he was able to save millions of dollars with the adjustment of chemicals and methods for corrosion control, among other interesting topics.
“In the early 1970s two things happened: one was the worldwide awareness of contamination, then suddenly being able to contain the products in pipes, containers or tanks became the most important thing. Before the 1970s, if you had a spill, they just put dirt on it (…), after that, we couldn’t do it,” explains Brown.
