The Great Forum ACP Sustainability Facts will take place on May 11 and 12 at the Blue Gardens Convention Center of the Hilton Hotel, Barranquilla, Colombia. The event will address discussions on the contributions of the oil and gas industry to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and country goals.

Among the topics on the agenda are: technological innovation, sustainable mobility, ESG, human rights, energy transition, climate change, natural gas.

The oil and gas industry will meet at the Great ACP Forum: Sustainability Facts to present the contributions to the country’s environmental, economic and social sustainability, within the framework of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs. This will be a space where Sustainability Facts will show how the sector evolves with technological innovation to be part of the future, in a context of carbon neutrality and sustainable energy diversification, guaranteeing, in turn, energy security for Colombia.

The event seeks to promote a conversation about how the oil and gas industry is innovating and evolving in scenarios of decarbonization and cleaner energy, thus being an ally for the transition and the fight against climate change.

Francisco José Lloreda Mera, president of the Colombian Oil and Gas Association, the organizing union, indicated that “with this Great Forum we want to lead the conversation on sustainability, which is of interest to all Colombians, even more so in the current situation of energy crisis World Cup and elections for a new government in Colombia”.

“This space is an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of oil and gas in the present and future, and show how through innovation and technology, they are transformed to generate the energy that the country requires to promote its sustainable development,” Lloreda added. mere.

For two days, around 400 attendees will meet to learn, from the hands of expert speakers, the role played by the oil and gas industry in climate change management, circular economy, the opportunities of the sector in the context of transition energy, operations within the framework of human rights, the role of the downstream in sustainability, among other topics.

Among the exhibitors will be Carlos Eduardo Correa, Minister of the Environment; Diego Mesa Puyo, Minister of Mines and Energy; Jefferson Mena Sánchez, Presidential Advisor for Human Rights and International Affairs; Fabio Arjona, Director of Conservation International; governors of producing regions, presidents of the main hydrocarbon production and distribution companies in Colombia, among other actors.

“As a sector, we have a very important task, and it is to talk about the good practices of the industry to improve them, take them from the technical and academic scenarios, to the daily life of all Colombians. The invitation is for all of us to be part of this conversation, based on facts”, concluded the union leader.
