XPeng Motors has officially revealed its new P7+ electric sedan , touting itself as the “world’s first AI-powered car .” An evolution of the P7 model, the vehicle is surprising in that it ditches LiDAR sensors in favor of pure-vision camera technology, similar to that used by Tesla.
During an event in Shenzhen, XPeng shared details of this sedan that combines luxury, advanced technology and aerodynamic design. With a length of more than five meters, the P7+ offers the space and comfort of an SUV, but with the elegance and energy efficiency of a coupe.

Advanced technology with artificial intelligence
The XPeng P7+’s main appeal lies in its camera-based autonomous driving system , dubbed “Eagle Eye.” These cameras collect information more accurately than traditional LiDAR systems, and according to XPeng, can cover an area the size of 1.8 football fields. This advanced vision enables door-to-door intelligent driving functions, making it easier to navigate urban environments and highways.
In addition, the P7+’s artificial intelligence optimizes various systems, such as energy management and autonomous driving. All this, together with its aerodynamic design that offers a drag coefficient of Cd 0.206, makes the P7+ one of the most efficient electric vehicles on the market.
Pre-sale and prices of the new P7+ electric sedan
The P7+ will be available with two battery packs, with capacities of 60.7 kWh and 76.3 kWh, offering ranges of 620 km and 710 km, respectively. In addition, XPeng has optimised the cargo space, with capacity for 33 20-inch suitcases , making it the leader in its class in terms of storage volume.
XPeng Motors has announced that the P7+ will be available to order in November 2024 , with initial deliveries shortly after. Pre-sales will begin during the Paris Motor Show, and the sedan is expected to be priced at around RMB 300,000 ($42,370) .
