The General Directorate of Electricity explained that this increase in the production of electrical energy is mainly based on the economic reactivation of the various industries that operate at the national level, and that they have been progressively overcoming the difficult situation they experienced due to the pandemic. of Covid-19 during the last two years.
Regarding the source of electricity generation, the hydroelectric plants produced 2,042 GWh; that is, 3% more than what was generated in August 2021; and on the side of the thermal units that use natural gas, they registered 2,505 GWh; that is, 2% more than what was produced in the same period last year.
