The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project has recorded a tragic incident on August 20 at the Changhua onshore substation, a critical facility for the development of the company’s offshore wind farm in Taiwan.

The incident at the Hai Long Changhua onshore substation is still under investigation. However, preliminary information available mentions a carbon dioxide leak from the fire suppression protection system affected approximately 17 workers at the site.

The Hai Long Project, in collaboration with TECO Electric & Machinery, under the supervision of Northland Power, the substation contractor, is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the incident. The company has reaffirmed its commitment to safety in all its operations, stressing the importance of ensuring a safe workplace for all its personnel and preventing future incidents.
