One of Asia’s largest flying car companies, Xpeng Aeroht, recently conducted the first flight tests of its XPENG X2 flying car in Guangdong province in southern China.

The XPENG X2 is designed to operate in urban scenarios at low altitude, allowing flights of up to 25 minutes and reaching a maximum speed of 130 km/h (80 mph). In addition, this vehicle has a maximum payload capacity of 160 kg and can fly at a design altitude of up to 1,000 meters.
It was developed in collaboration with HT Aero and is equipped with modern and state-of-the-art aerospace technologies. and state-of-the-art aerospace technologies. These include radar, a sensory system for obstacle avoidance and an integrated emergency parachute.
This electric vehicle, the XPENG X2, generates no polluting emissions during operation. Its aerodynamic design includes a tablet ergonomically positioned between the two seats to facilitate takeoff and landing operations. It also incorporates an advanced autonomous flight planning system through an on-board computer.
Technical characteristics of the X2
The X2 is an electric vertical take-off and landing(eVTOL) flying carthat seats two people. In addition, it is equipped with eight propeller engines, distributed in pairs at each corner of the vehicle, allowing it to reach a flight altitude of up to 975 meters.
With a total weight of 760 kilograms (560 kilograms empty), the X2 offers both manual and automatic driving modes. Its lightweight structure is made entirely of carbon fiber and has a fuselage parachute for emergencies.

Measuring 497 centimeters long, 478 centimeters wide and 136 centimeters high, with propellers measuring 1.83 meters in diameter, this vehicle is designed for automatic flights governed by predefined parameters of altitude, speed and flight time, facilitated by an autopilot function.
