Organized by Gecamin, Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Antofagasta, Universidad de Concepción and Queen’s University, the 18th International Conference on Mineral Processing and Geometallurgy, Procemin-Geomet 2022, will take place from October 5 to 7 in online mode, with a face-to-face networking cocktail on October 9 at the Sheraton Hotel, in Santiago, Chile.
Procemin-Geomet 2022 is focused on offering a forum where professionals can learn and analyze the best practices and innovations related to mineral processing and geometallurgy in metallic and non-metallic mining. The conference brings together leading executives, professionals and academics in one place.
During the event, there will be more than 65 presentations by authors from 15 countries, and 8 plenary talks with executives and national and international experts. Likewise, it will have a discussion panel called “Productivity and mineral processing: advances, challenges and human capital”, added to technical courses given by the University of Chile, Queen’s University (Canada) and the University of Concepción.
They will address topics such as: new processing technologies, modeling, design, optimization and control of mineral processes, comminution: crushing, grinding, classification, screening and mineral selection, flotation: fundamentals, reagents and industrial applications, solid-liquid separation and reprocessing. tailings, precious metals processing, industrial and ferrous minerals, expansions and new projects.
In addition, it will have the participation of the mineral processing manager of Freeport-McMoran USA, Cesar Sosa, the professor of the Department of Mining Engineering of the University of Chile, Pia Lois-Morales, the professor of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Concepción, Leopoldo Gutiérrez, the director of the Doctoral Program in Mineral Process Engineering at the University of Antofagasta, Luis Cisternas, among other executives and academics who represent the Executive Committee of the event.
