The company Terabase Energy has successfully completed the implementation of its first commercial solar project using its innovative solar installation robot, known as Terafab .

This revolutionary technology led to the installation of 17 MW at the White Wing Ranch project, which has a total of 225 MW and is located in Yuma County, Arizona. Terabase Energy collaborated on this project with developer Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) and contractor RES.

Terafab delivers improvements in labor productivity

Notably, Terafab, also called “construction automation platform”, marks a milestone by completely eliminating the need to manually lift steel tubes and solar panels, an unprecedented innovation in the industry. According to Terabase Energy, the implementation of this robot has led to significant improvements in labor productivity, with a 25% increase compared to manual installation.

Likewise, its configuration provides improved working conditions for solar technicians, since they operate in a shaded and cool environment. The precision of the robot also facilitates the return of 100% of the solar panel packaging for reuse by the manufacturer.

Terabase Energy highlights that the success of this first commercial installation demonstrates the effective synergy between automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), a digital twin and data analysis. This comprehensive approach has proven key to improving solar construction management at remote sites with challenging environmental conditions.
