WeRide, a pioneer in autonomous vehicle technology, has introduced the Robosweeper S1, an innovative autonomous electric sweeper capable of keeping up to 120,000 m² of road surface clean.

This sweeping robot represents an effective solution for cleaning public spaces such as bicycle paths, sidewalks and roads, and can operate independently or in conjunction with traditional cleaning equipment, both day and night.

Since its founding in 2017 by a prominent former Baidu scientist, WeRide has expanded its presence globally, including Silicon Valley and several Asian countries, and has developed from autonomous cabs to robotic minibuses and vans. Despite considerable progress and deployment of autonomous vehicles in China, the vision of a globally accessible fleet of robotic cabs is still in the process of materializing.

In terms of innovation in cleaning services, WeRide has set a milestone with the introduction of the Robosweeper, preceded by the production of an autonomous road cleaning vehicle, which was tested in Guangzhou, China. This new model, designed for efficient cleaning in various conditions and environments, is distinguished by its mobility, equipped with advanced navigation technology and sensors for safe and effective operation.

How does the Robosweeper S1 autonomous electric sweeper work?

The Robosweeper S1 is equipped with a 400-liter water tank and a 240-liter waste container, capable of self-discharging its waste and refilling independently. The recent implementation of this sweeper in Guangzhou marks the beginning of its commercialization, with several contracts already signed, demonstrating the potential of this technology to revolutionize the cleaning of urban spaces.
