Subsea cable repair vessel characteristics

Neptune Marine Service B.V. transformed the anchored barge NP-459 into a DP2 vessel specialized in cable repair. This vessel, now known as CURO has a 50-ton offshore articulating boom crane. The CURO will be operational by the middle of this month, starting its first inter-array cable replacement project in Germany in the next two weeks.

The CURO is equipped with advanced technology, including an innovative cable repair system with a double basket carousel. This configuration allows for the repair and replacement of HVAC and HVDC array cables, export cables and interconnectors. Thanks to its 8-point mooring system and DP2 capabilities, the vessel can operate year-round in very shallow, beachworthy water conditions as well as in deep water.
