Siemens Gamesa has signed two contracts with the company Hai Long Offshore Wind Project for the supply of wind turbines for three offshore wind projects in Taiwan totaling 1,044 MW, in what is the manufacturer’s largest contract for this technology in the country, according to a note from Europe Press.
The agreement includes the development of the Hai Long 2A (300 MW), Hai Long 2B (232 MW) and Hai Long 3 (512 MW) projects, which will use 73 “SG 14-222 DD” wind turbines, and represent the largest energy firm Siemens Gamesa offshore wind power in Taiwan to date.
The contract also stipulates service for 15 years, with an option to extend it to 20 years. Among other elements, Siemens Gamesa will provide the offshore logistics and operations and maintenance service facilities for the three projects.
