The National Port Authority of Peru (APN) granted the company Shougang Hierro Perú, the port authorization of the project “Port Terminal of San Nicolás de Shougang Hierro Perú – Nuevo Muelle de San Nicolás”, located in the district of San Nicolás, province Nazca, Ica region.
This port project, which will be privately owned and used, includes the construction of a new wharf specialized in solid and liquid bulk (mining-industrial), approximately 438 meters long, which will be located in a maritime area to the west of the breakwater. existing, allowing the dock to serve the berthing of ships on both sides, with a capacity of 300,000 and 200,000 tons, respectively.
Likewise, it will have a conveyor belt for the mineral concentrate, and a 16-meter-deep shiploader; in order to optimize cargo operations; In addition, a mineral sampling room will be installed at the foot of the breakwater.
The project works will have an estimated investment of USD 247 million (without VAT) and an execution period of 3 years and 8 months.
