TotalEnergies announces the Ntokon oil and gas discovery at OML102, located in shallow water 60 kilometers off the southeast coast of Nigeria.
The Ntokon-1AX well found 38 meters of oil sand and 15 meters of gas sand, while its secondary track Ntokon-1G1 found 73 meters of net oil sand, in well-developed and excellent-quality reservoirs.
Ntokon-1G1 successfully tested up to a maximum rate of approximately 5,000 barrels per day of 40 degree API oil.

Located 20 kilometers from the Ofon field facilities at OML102, Ntokon is planned to be developed through a link to these existing facilities.
“The Ntokon discovery opens up a promising prospect for new link development,” said Nicolas Terraz, President of Exploration and Production at TotalEnergies.
“Following the start of production from the Ikike link at OML99 in 2022, this new success in the area further demonstrates the potential for nearby exploration to create value within our low-cost, low-emission strategy.”
OML 102 is operated by TotalEnergies EP Nigeria with a 40% stake, along with partner NNPC Ltd with the remaining 60%.
