In the Saudi Arabian desert, an ambitious project is taking shape: the world’s largest green hydrogen plant . This project, driven by NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) , is key to the transition to clean, carbon-free energy , a crucial step to decarbonize sectors such as transport and heavy industry.
The world’s largest green hydrogen plant
ACWA Power, Air Products and NEOM have teamed up to create this renewable hydrogen plant located in Oxagon, within the futuristic NEOM City. This project is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to meet Vision 2030 goals and become a global leader in sustainable energy .

With an investment of $8.4 billion , this plant will have the capacity to produce up to 600 tons of green hydrogen per day , using exclusively solar and wind energy . The hydrogen will be converted into green ammonia and exported globally, helping to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide.
The NGHC project not only marks a breakthrough in renewable energy, but also represents a major contribution to the fight against climate change . It is estimated that the green hydrogen plant could eliminate up to 5 million tons of CO2 per year , making a real difference in the global fight for sustainability.
