Russian gas pipeline fire caused apparent abnormal heat wave

A loud explosion was reported following a fire on a Russian gas pipeline in the Saratov region. This incident, which occurred in the Tatishchevsky district, caused the flames to spread to a nearby residential area. Firefighters quickly moved to the scene to contain the fire.

According to local reports, the fire started at approximately 4 p.m. on June 15. All emergency services are working intensively to control the situation. The spread of the fire towards inhabited areas increased the urgency of the firefighters’ operations.

The head of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, reported that the cause of the fire was“an abnormal heat wave that resulted in the depressurization of the gas pipeline.” This unusual weather condition raised temperatures to critical levels, triggering the explosion and subsequent fire.
