Production in Russia of liquefied natural gas (LNG) increased by 8.1% in 2022, compared to the previous year, reaching a record figure of 32.5 million tons, according to data provided by the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat). ), reports Interfax.

This increase is the result of a reduction in the volume of maintenance work due to a major scheduled repair that took place in 2021. The agency detailed that 11.5 million tons of the total production corresponded to the Sajalín-2 project plant.

In the case of natural gas, production decreased by 13.4% to 573,000 million cubic meters, while the production of associated oil gas stood at 99,000 million cubic meters, 2% less than in 2021. Meanwhile, Russian oil and condensate production increased by 2.1%, to 534 million tons in 2022. Without counting condensate, production was 493 million tons, which represents an increase of 1.2% compared to 2021.
