Production in Russia of liquefied natural gas (LNG) increased by 8.1% in 2022, compared to the previous year, reaching a record figure of 32.5 million tons, according to data provided by the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat). ), reports Interfax.
This increase is the result of a reduction in the volume of maintenance work due to a major scheduled repair that took place in 2021. The agency detailed that 11.5 million tons of the total production corresponded to the Sajalín-2 project plant.
In the case of natural gas, production decreased by 13.4% to 573,000 million cubic meters, while the production of associated oil gas stood at 99,000 million cubic meters, 2% less than in 2021. In this way, the total production of the two types of gas in the Eurasian country was 672,000 million cubic meters last year, compared to 763,000 million cubic meters the previous year.
Meanwhile, Russian oil and condensate production increased by 2.1%, to 534 million tons in 2022. Without counting condensate, production was 493 million tons, which represents an increase of 1.2% compared to 2021.
