Initially, the European Space Agency (ESA) has undertaken the assembly of the Ariane 6 rocket at its base in French Guiana, with a view to its debut between June and July of this year. Recently, the second P120C booster was moved to the launch area and attached to the main body of the rocket.

Features of the Ariane 6 rocket

This booster, with a height of 13.5 meters, is loaded with 142 tons of solid propellant and will be activated briefly after the ignition of the Vulcain 2.1 main engine, pushing the Ariane 6 to an altitude of 70 km during the first 130 seconds of flight .

In addition, the Ariane 6 is presented as the new European model for the transport of heavy loads, succeeding the Ariane 5 which completed its last trip in July of the previous year. This new rocket has been designed in two variants: the Ariane 62 with two propellants and the Ariane 64 with four, adapted for different types of missions and loads , thus optimizing its functionality and profitability.

Ariane 6 integration and final testing

According to Martin Sion, CEO of ArianeGroup , the placement of the first flight model of the Ariane 6 on the platform represents the culmination of extensive periods of planning and production by ArianeGroup and its collaborators in Europe.

This event celebrates the end of a stage, and also begins a new phase in the preparation of the launch, which is full of challenges and complexities. Sion highlighted the commitment of the European space team, which is dedicating its expertise to ensure the success of the inaugural flight.

In the coming days, the propellants will be attached to the central core of the rocket, finishing with the necessary mechanical and electrical connections. Finally, the upper structure of the Ariane 6, which includes the payloads and the fairing, will be assembled directly on the launch platform , a measure that seeks to optimize time and resources in the assembly of the rocket.

Ariane 6 boosts space investment and technology in Europe

This launch is not only a milestone for ArianeGroup and ESA, but also a reflection of the growing interest and investment in space technologies in Europe. With Ariane 6, Europe not only seeks to maintain its competitiveness in the space launch market, but also demonstrate its ability to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of space exploration and utilization.
