Registration is now open for the European Shallow Geothermal Days event that will take place on June 14 and 15, 2022 at the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) Catalonia, Spain.

Surface geothermal energy represents a developed, non-volatile and clean technology to provide efficient heating and cooling throughout Europe. It is often associated with the use of geothermal heat pumps, but it offers a wide range of applications, such as geo-cooling or seasonal heat storage.

Still, it has the potential to become a powerful game changer towards decarbonized heating and cooling technology. The next decade from 2021 to 2030 is crucial to meet the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the European Commission’s “Clean Energy for All Europeans” initiative.

This event aims to connect policy makers with scientists, to promote and discuss opportunities to drive this technology forward in the next decade. The event organizers continue to search for innovative solutions and good practices for efficient and sustainable use of surface geothermal energy throughout Europe.

According to the program, there will be conferences on: training and skills in geothermal energy, innovative trends in low temperatures, presentations on introduction to geology, introduction to surface geothermal installation, among other interesting topics.
