Qatar Energy has signed a naphtha supply agreement with Singapore-based Shell International Eastern Trading Company . The agreement will run for 20 years and will begin to provide for the delivery of up to 18 million tonnes of naphtha from April 2025.
A long-term NAFTA supply agreement
This contract is the largest and longest contract QatarEnergy has signed to date and marks a new chapter in the collaboration between the two companies, as they share several strategic projects globally, such as the Pearl GTL plant and LNG initiatives in Qatar.
Shell CEO Wael Sawan said: “This agreement will enable the company to deliver more value to global customers and strengthens the energy cooperation between the two companies. QatarEnergy and Shell have been collaborating since 2019, and this new agreement reinforces their partnership in providing clean and reliable energy.
At a global level, this partnership represents a historic milestone for the hydrocarbon industry and will consolidate Qatar as one of the main suppliers of naphtha to the world, ensuring the supply of this important resource for the next two decades.
