PXGEO, a marine geophysical services company, has announced the acquisition of Modus Subsea Services, a provider of autonomous subsea operations and services. This decision seeks to expand PXGEO’s underwater offering and provide its clients with more efficient, safe and sustainable solutions.
PXGEO’s wide range of underwater services
Modus Subsea Services specializes in the use of underwater intervention drones (UID) based on the Saab Sabertooth platform, allowing them to conduct underwater operations remotely and safely.
The company has also developed the industry’s first UID underwater residency solution , where the vehicle remains docked to a docking station for charging and data transfer. This innovative technology allows us to offer more efficient inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) solutions with less environmental impact.
The acquisition of Modus Subsea Services follows PXGEO ‘s recent purchase of AmpSeis in December 2023. AmpSeis is a geophysical company that has developed the most advanced ocean bottom node (OBN) in the industry.
