Lhyfe pone en marcha su primer proyecto de hidrógeno verde en Reino Unido

Lhyferecently announced plans to launch its first green hydrogen project in the United Kingdom, a strategic move intended to make a significant contribution to the country’s efforts to achieve its energy neutrality goals. This pioneering project has been supported by Shepherd Offshorea leading provider of services in the maritime and energy sectors, thanks to a recently signed agreement on the location of the plant.

A promising green hydrogen project

On the other hand, the collaboration with Shepherd Offshore not only secures a strategic location for the plant, but also reflects a strong partnership in the industry. If the proposed plans are given the green light, the Lhyfe plant, which will occupy the previously abandoned site of the Neptune Bank power station in Wallsend, is projected to have an initial capacity of 20 MW, which will allow it to produce up to 8 tons of green hydrogen daily.

In addition, the aforementioned estimated production of green hydrogen per day is not only a testament to the plant’s potential to contribute to carbon footprint reduction, but also illustrates its ability to support the transition to sustainable mobility. To put it in perspective, this amount of hydrogen could allow a hydrogen truck to travel approximately 100,000 km without emittingCO2.

Importantly, the Lhyfe Wallsend project presents itself as a promising solution for various organizations seeking to play an active role in the decarbonization of their industrial and transportation sectors. This effort not only highlights the importance of adopting clean and renewable energy sources, but also underscores the crucial role of green hydrogen in shaping a sustainable energy future.
