Plenitude advances in the development of the 220 MW solar plant in Salamanca

The company Plenitude , a subsidiary of Eni , is advancing in the construction of a 220 MW solar plant in Villarino de los Aires, Salamanca. This installation will become one of the largest in Castilla y León. The event included the laying of the First Stone, and was attended by local representatives and the Junta de Castilla y León, who celebrated this important event for the region.

Plenitude’s 220 MW solar plant

This project extends over 286 hectares, and is designed to produce 400,000 MWh of electricity annually. In addition, it will be connected to the power grid through a 3.2 km underground line, guaranteeing an efficient energy supply . With the installation of 365,300 bifacial modules, the plant will maximize the capture of solar energy, contributing to the clean electricity supply in Spain.

Plenitude has emphasized the environmental integration of the project . The company has implemented measures to protect local biodiversity, such as the conservation of rural huts and natural water channels. In addition, permeable hunting fences have been installed to allow the free movement of wildlife and it has actively coordinated with local farmers to ensure sustainable land use.

Our collaboration with local communities is a fundamental pillar of our growth strategy in Spain. “.

With this project, Plenitude strengthens its position in Castilla y León, where it has integrated a 13 MW wind farm. At a national level, the company has more than 440 MW of installed capacity in clean energy and multiple projects in development totalling 1 GW, including initiatives in Andalusia and Extremadura.
