Petrobras announced the confirmation of the final investment decision for the second stage of development of the Atapu and Sépia oil fields, located in the rich Santos pre-salt basin, offshore Brazil.
P-84 and P-85 platforms
Atapu has been in production since 2020, thanks to the P-70 floating storage and offloading platform, with an initial capacity of 150,000 barrels per day. The Atapu expansion will include the construction of a new FPSO with a capacity increased to 225,000 barrels per day.
The Sépia field, which began production in 2021 through the Carioca FPSO platform, will follow a similar path. The second phase of Sépia also contemplates the incorporation of a new FPSO with the same expanded capacity of 225,000 barrels per day.
The new platforms have been designed with high-efficiency technologies to minimize pollutant gas emissions. In addition, its all-electric configuration and waste heat recovery systems are at the forefront of this project.
Petrobras has contracted Seatrium to supply new platforms for the supply of the new P-84 and P-85 FPSO FPSO P-84 and P-85 platforms, in order to meet the projected schedules and plans for production in early 2029.
