PERUMIN is the most important mining convention in Latin America and the second most important in the world. It will take place from September 26 to 30 at the Cerro Juli Convention Center, in Arequipa, Peru.
This year, the convention will have the motto “Building together a better Peru.” “We have thought of this motto to show that we are a united industry and concerned about the generation of development for the country and that it has a great projection for the future. This last point should not only be supported by the great variety of natural resources that we have, but also by our work, vocation and strength to continue advancing”, declared Claudia Cooper, president of PERUMIN 35.
The mining convention expects to receive more than 50,000 attendees during the week and be the meeting point between the authorities and industry professionals to find sustainable mechanisms that promote the well-being of the country.
“The work is hard, but we are convinced that we will achieve that goal. For this reason, we are going to require the support of all the key players in the sector, to continue fulfilling our mission,” Cooper said. The president of PERUMIN 35 also highlighted that, thanks to the efforts of the mining sector for years, this industry currently represents about 12% of GDP and allows for the generation of great benefits for the country.
