The ING. Gustavo Romero Urdaneta, director in Latin America of the Penspen company, offered the conference “Corrosion management in the life cycle of assets”, during the XVII Seminar of Operators of Maritime Oil Terminals and Monobuoys, held from November 10 to 12 in Cartagena , Colombia.
In his presentation, Romero highlighted the study carried out by NACE International on international measures related to the Prevention, Application and Economics of Corrosion Technologies (IMPACT) to examine the current role of corrosion management in industry and regulators. and thus establish recommendations and best practices.
“The most significant result of this study is that all companies are working on the threat of corrosion, but decisions are required to be made in a context focused on management, organization, financial and risk tools and business impacts” Romero pointed out.
