The general director of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Octavio Romero Oropeza, reported that on Monday, September 12, a new oil well began production in the Tupilco onshore field, located in the municipality of Comalcalco. The official announced on his social networks that next week another well will start operating in the state of Tabasco.
Romero Oropeza explained in a video that both wells will provide a production of 30,000 additional barrels per day.
“These Tupilco wells have a very special characteristic, they are wells with a lot of production, around 15,000 barrels each well, so that in the next few days we would have an additional production of 30,000 barrels per day, and we are considering that, by the end of this year, by December, three more will enter, so that five wells this year in Tupilco, with a production of around 15,000 barrels per well”, commented the general director of PEMEX.
The official announced that in December of this year 3 more wells will come into operation, which will represent the sum of another 45,000 barrels and it is expected that 12 wells will be in operation next year as part of the transition program.
