Terminal Portuario Paracas (TPP) completed the unloading of the project cargo corresponding to the Punta Lomitas wind farm located in Ocucaje, department of Ica, Peru. The operation culminated last week with the arrival of the last of the seven ships that transported 57 pieces destined for the energy center.
Xabier Diaz, Logistic Team Leader of Siemens Gamesa, provider of the wind farm equipment, stated that “we have decided to carry out our operations through the Port of Paracas for three important reasons: security (the staff works under strict security regulations), the access (entrance and exit to the Pan-American highway) and the layout of the port (capacity and regulatory structure to unload the components of the ships and place them on the dock)”
The batches of cargo are stored in the port until they are transferred to Ocucaje, where the emblematic project is located that will introduce non-conventional renewable energy to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) of Peru.
From the Paracas Port Terminal, they argued that the site has been consolidating annually as a modern and flexible port; And more and more customers have benefited from the competitive advantages it offers, including: lower logistics costs, personalized service, security in cargo transfer, and direct access to and from the Panamericana Sur highway.
