Solar glass production by NSG
NSG Group member Pilkington North America’s manufacturing facility has been retooled to produce TCO ( transparent conductive oxide ) glass , a key component for solar applications. This development increases manufacturing capacity for this resource, and solidifies NSG’s leadership in the renewable energy sector.
NSG representatives further indicate that this investment supports First Solar’s expansion , while contributing to sustainability by offering innovative and cost-effective materials for the solar market in the country.
TCO glass , produced with inline coating, offers optimized durability and costs, an important advantage for large-scale renewable energy applications . This process strengthens NSG’s commitment to sustainable solutions and the circular economy.
This initiative underscores Ohio’s importance as a strategic hub for solar manufacturing and reinforces First Solar’s commitment to increasing the development of thin film technologies. With this new production line, NSG and First Solar are laying the groundwork for a more sustainable future, focused on innovation and energy development.
