The interconnection of this solar plant represents a further step towards the company’s goal of contributing to decarbonisation and environmental protection, generating clean energy to supply more than 4,000 homes in the region.
This new solar power plant joins another in the same portfolio, Corte de Peleas , which was recently energized, ahead of schedule. Both plants share an essential infrastructure: the 20 kV evacuation line, which has allowed for optimizing time and economic resources.
In its first year of operation, the Badajoz plant will avoid the emission of more than 5,500 metric tons of CO₂, as part of Nexwell Power ‘s strategy to combat climate change. At a global level, the company has set the goal of reducing more than one billion tons of carbon emissions, through the development of renewable energies.
In addition to its commitment to clean energy , Nexwell is promoting conservation initiatives in the area. 20% of the project’s land is reserved to protect local fauna, including steppe birds. Among the actions are the monitoring of protected species such as the Bonelli’s Eagle, the installation of shelters for reptiles and nests for kestrels, and the creation of a biological corridor.
With this project, Nexwell Power strengthens its position as a leader in the energy transition in Spain, with a long-term vision both in the generation of renewable energy and in the preservation of the natural environment.
