New mineral deposits have been found in various regions of Syria, the country’s Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Firas Kaddour, told Sputnik.
“We found new mineral deposits in Syria. The explorations confirmed their presence,” the headline said.
Syria promotes investment in its mineral resources sector
As Kaddour stated, the authorities are currently working to make the country’s mineral resources sector more attractive to local and foreign investment.
Also, he continued, work is being carried out to introduce changes in the legislation in order to promote investments in this area in the country.
“Nine investment possibilities in the sphere of mineral resources have been proposed” by the Syrian Investment Agency, the minister said.
Kaddour specified that the possibilities are open to the sister states and allies of that country, including Russia and Iran.
