MENCK launches MHU 6000W wind hammer for optimization and installation of offshore monopiles

MENCK, an Acteon Group company, has launched its MHU 6000W wind hammer, which is designed to optimize monopile installation in the offshore wind industry. This new equipment has the ability to handle larger and heavier piles under complex situations, facilitating the expansion of projects in deeper waters.

TheWind Hammer has the capacity to deliver up to 6,250 kJ of energy to drive monopiles up to 9 meters in diameter. This power level establishes a favorable advantage against the challenges of offshore wind turbine installations, where offshore structures are expected to increase in size in the future to maximize energy production.

One of the most outstanding features of the MHU 6000W is its ability to minimize environmental impact. By incorporating the MENCK Noise Reduction UnitUnit (MNRU), it minimizes underwater noise and pile fatigue, a responsible choice for the protection of the marine ecosystem. In addition, the hammer is designed to operate with less energy, which reduces component wear and extends its service life.

Moreover, this new product is aligned with sustainability. MENCK has decided to integrate environmentally friendly lubricants into its operations. These improvements allow up to 200% more uptime compared to conventional breakers.

An advanced deepwater technology

MENCK’ s wind hammer offers power and precise control, due to its double-acting hydraulic drive and closed-loop control system. These features allow longer and stronger monopiles to be installed under complex ground conditions and at greater depths, which is essential for wind farm development in areas where conditions are more challenging.
