Petoi introduces Bittle X , an open-source programmable robot dog that aims to offer a hands-on way to learn robotics and STEM. This palm-sized robot dog amazes with realistic movements, over 35 predefined skills, and the ability to access voice commands.
The Bittle X is a robot designed to learn and experiment
The Bittle X features a lightweight, sturdy frame that’s perfect for performing maneuvers like backflips or precise movements like sitting up or playing dead. Designed specifically for STEM education , the robot allows students of all ages to explore advanced concepts like programming, mechanics, and bionic dynamics.
With built-in support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as an upgraded CPU, the Bittle X is a perfect bridge between cutting-edge technology and accessibility. According to Wayne Seltzer, professor at the Robotics STEM Camp at the University of Colorado, the robot makes teaching easier and better because it excites young people by emulating the natural behavior of a dog.
Petoi’s desktop app improves robot programming and calibration, enabling the use of languages such as Scratch , C++ , and Python . Additionally, with an improved BiBoard, users can integrate artificial intelligence, as Ömer Çolakoğlu did, who used the ChatGPT API to give the robot advanced communication skills.

The Bittle X is an educational resource and a tool for researchers and robotics enthusiasts. Tiantian Zhang of the Chinese University of Hong Kong highlighted its maneuverability and ease of use in tight spaces as one of the features that make it a preferred choice over larger, more expensive quadruped robots.
