Marlink , a specialist in information and communications technology ( ICT ) services for remote locations, has signed an agreement with Transpetro to implement its Sealink NextGen hybrid network solution on 26 tankers in Brazil.

An improvement in operational efficiency with Sealink NextGen

This advanced connectivity proposal integrates Marlink ‘s global VSAT with Starlink ‘s low-latency service, providing optimized and secure connectivity to support the digitalization of Transpetro’s fleet on each of its commercial routes.

The implementation of Sealink NextGen will enable the provision of a high-speed and reliable network, while incorporating Marlink’s XChange management platform. This platform enables software-based application routing, WiFi and VoIP services , and ensures secure internet access for the crew. Transpetro’s IT and Telecommunications Project Manager, André Pereira, highlighted the importance of this hybrid solution to optimize fleet operations and provide stable connectivity to the crew.

Transpetro will have access to a Marlink customer portal to monitor and manage network services in real time, while corporate traffic is routed through a virtual private network to the company’s headquarters. This integration allows the company to take advantage of collaborative tools , online training and remote maintenance, improving the safety and efficiency of offshore operations.

The agreement is part of Marlink’s expansion strategy in South America, where demand for managed ICT solutions continues to grow. Marlink’s president, Tore Morten Olsen, stressed the company’s satisfaction in collaborating in the digital transformation of Transpetro.
