Una mejora hibrida en red del Exploris One

Marlink has successfully installed a complete hybrid network solution for the new French expedition cruise company, Exploris, on board the Exploris One.

A hybrid network upgrade of Exploris One

This solution offers full coverage and connectivity to the expedition cruise, combining LEO satellites from Eutelsat OneWeb, Starlink and Iridium, with GEO VSAT services, TV-RO and 5G networks from Marlink. This feeds the onboard ethernet/Wi-Fi network and creates a portal for customers. This enhances the scope of exploring remote islands or venturing into unexplored places.

The ship has a capacity of 144 passengers, focused on the nautical sector and luxury expeditions, and began its inaugural season in December 2023 with voyages to South America and Antarctica. Throughout the season, 32 additional trips will be made.

Itineraries include destinations such as Antarctica, the Atlantic Islands, Western Europe, Svalbard, Iceland, Greenland, the Canadian Arctic and South America. So, the solution to keep the ship and its passengers connected in these remote passengers connected in these remote and sometimes hostile and sometimes hostile latitudes, a hybrid network has been implemented by the company.

Connectivity improvements to future expedition ships

Marlink’s team was responsible for antenna installation, below-deck equipment and network integration during an extensive refurbishment to prepare the Exploris, a vessel capable of navigating in polar and remote areas.

Marlink shares the Exploris’ vision of providing excellence to its guests and keeping the ship safe and connected at all times, no matter what route it takes.
