Management at Europe’s largest offshore wind farms
The Nordseecluster project is expected to achieve a capacity of up to 1.6 GW, making it one of the largest wind energy developments in Germany. The Thor project , Denmark’s largest, will supply more than 1 GW of renewable energy, enough to power more than one million households.
In collaboration with Buss Ports , Mammoet will be responsible for the loading, storage and handling of 116 XXL monopiles in Eemshaven, the Netherlands. All components weigh 1,700 tonnes and are 96 metres long and will be transported using specialised equipment such as SPMTs. Mammoet’s experience and dedicated team ensure safe and efficient execution.
Mammoet Project Director Wouter Santen expressed the complexity and importance of managing these elements simultaneously for both parks, highlighting the commitment to advancing renewable energy.
