The Chilean firm KH2 presents the new bicycles of French origin that they will bring to Chile as a transportation alternative for people in both urban and rural areas.
Starting in October 2023, the models will arrive in Chile, as a “comprehensive green hydrogen solution.” Among its main characteristics is the fact that its engine works with energy supplied by hydrogen that is transformed into electricity.
KH2 details that they want bicycles to be “a high standard solution, energy transition and ecological mobility”. They can be recharged in less than two minutes and can travel up to 150 kilometers with constant performance.
Clean energy on two wheels: KH2’s green hydrogen bicycles will transform Chilean mobility
According to a report by Diario Financiero, the French entrepreneur behind this initiative, Nicholas Regnault, explained that three years ago he entered this world after approaching the firm that manufactures these hydrogen-powered bicycles, Pragma Mobility.
Thanks to the negotiations, he obtained the license to distribute them in Chile, to which he hopes to add a cargo tricycle of up to 150 kilos from the same company. Nicholas Regnault stressed that “this technology already works in Europe and Asia.”
“We want to go one step further and combine technological innovation with environmental sustainability to contribute to the expansion of electromobility in Chile through green hydrogen,” he added.
On the other hand, Matías Dittborn, marketing director of KH2, highlighted that KH2 intends to develop an urban ecosystem of green hydrogen production, storage and assortment stations to feed its fleet of bicycles and tricycles.
