Fiction becomes reality and in the best style of the movie Spiderman, the Japanese company Jizai Arms has designed a spider-like robotic limb system consisting of six arms that can be controlled by the user, as if it were an extension of their own body, designed to allow humans to better interact with machines.
These robotic arms can be connected, disconnected and even replaced entirely to adapt to any type of work so that they can interact with robots or artificial intelligence.
“Half a century since the cyborg concept was introduced, Jizai (digital cyborg) bodies, enabled by the spread of wearable robotics, are the focus of much research in recent times,” the company states.
“Jizai Arms is a supernumerary robotic limb system consisting of a portable base unit with six terminals and detachable robotic arms that can be controlled by the user. The system was designed to enable social interaction between multiple users, such as an arm swap, and to explore possible interactions between digital cyborgs in a cyborg society.”
Possible uses of Jizai Arms robotic arms
The main goal of this invention is to ensure that humans can interact with robots and artificial intelligence in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
These robotic prostheses are highly flexible, allowing them to perform a wide variety of tasks, from warehouse work to hospital operating rooms. The user can easily control these arms allowing them to operate the limbs with their own movements.
