Funding for the Chinese virtual reality industry more than doubled in 2021 despite the coronavirus pandemic, according to data from Chinese authorities cited by the South China Morning Post.

Meanwhile, the Chinese research firm Tuoluo Research indicated in a report that investments, mergers and acquisitions in the country’s virtual reality and augmented reality industry reached 871 million dollars in the first half of 2022, an increase of 67%. in relation to the previous year.
Beijing plans to expand the volume of this industry to some 49 billion dollars by 2026, six times more than in 2021, with sales of virtual reality devices exceeding 25 million units, according to its first national industrial action plan. dedicated to this sector, issued at the beginning of November.
