Intramotev, a company offering emission-free freight transportation solutions, has reported the successful implementation of an autonomous electric railcar, in collaboration with a mining customer, in Pennsylvania.

Technology development in railway projects

It was founded four years ago in St. Louis, Missouri. The St. Louis-based company has stood out for its focus on innovation within the rail sector, seeking to reduce costs and promote environmental responsibility through autonomous and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

During its short time on the market, it has developed unique technologies that take advantage of battery electric propulsion, such as its flagship railcar, the TugVolt, which can be controlled via a smartphone and operated independently for the first and last mile sections of rail journeys.

In addition, the company has created the ReVolt car, designed to remain within the train’s composition and capture energy through regenerative braking, which helps reduce fossil fuel consumption. reducing fossil fuel consumption .
