Inspenet, the network of knowledge and professional connection, will give a free webinar on risk-based inspection by means of assisted or induced cracking (EAC), this Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. (Colombia / Houston time). ) with the participation of Dannisa Chalfoun and moderated by Francesco Solari, CEO of Inspenet.

Dannisa Chalfoun, is a materials engineer with a master’s degree in materials science and technology, an undergraduate and postgraduate professor, a specialist in corrosion and materials at the Shell Argentina refinery, an international auditor for Shell in integrity systems, and a researcher at the National Commission for Atomic Energy of Argentina and coordinator of seminars in the student and professional chapter of the AMPP.

In this webinar, Chalfoun talks about Risk Based Inspection (IBR) applied to Environmentally Assisted Cracking (EAC) mechanisms.

“In these latitudes it is known as media-assisted cracking or cracking. When talking about the IBR methodology, in the transition from the ’90s to the 2000s, the inspection that was made of the facilities was based on time, the components were inspected and an exhaustive search was made for all the possible mechanisms that were acting in them”, explains Chalfoun.

According to the specialist, the EAC is implemented sequentially as follows: (1) the collection of file and field data, (2) analysis and classification of the data by a multidisciplinary team made up of operations, processes, inspection, maintenance and specialists, (3), the corrosion specialist identifies the failures and classifies the corrosion ties, the product variables: Ph, pressure, temperature and supported with API 571 identifies the corrosion mechanisms, (4) the risks and (5) the optimized inspection plans are carried out, the management of the limits of the operational windows (IOW), the changes of metallurgy, operational variables and mitigate the risks. Finally, a robust auditable IBR document is obtained.

To learn more about the origin of media-assisted cracking or cracking mechanisms, control of operational variables, risk mitigation, among other topics, we invite you to watch this interesting webinar, on Wednesday, June 8, at 6:00 p.m. (Houston / Colombia time) on Inspenet TV https://inspenet.com/inspenet-tv/
