Inspenet, the professional knowledge and connection network, welcomes its new business partner: The American Society for Non-Destructive Testing, Inc. (The American Society for Nondestructive Testing; ASNT).
ASNT is the world’s largest technical society for Nondestructive Testing (NDT) professionals. This organization offers forums for the exchange of technical information, programs, educational materials, standards, services for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel.
ASNT was founded in 1941 (as The American Industrial Radium and X-Ray Society) and currently has more than 22,000 members and certificate holders worldwide. The Society is structured in local Sections (or chapters) throughout the world. There are more than 80 authorized local Sections in more than 12 countries. Its members represent a broad cross-section of NDT professionals working in manufacturing, construction, education, research, consulting, services, and the military.
ASNT standards and certification programs, publications, conferences, education, membership, and professional development programs are the foundation for expanding awareness of advances in NDT. Managed by a volunteer group of officers and directors, ASNT is organized by councils representing interests related to certification, engineering, research, education, and section operations.
In 2021, ASNT Certification Services LLC, a not-for-profit limited liability company that manages and operates the Society’s certification and accreditation programs, was founded.
ASNT is the world leader in the organization and sponsorship of NDT-related conferences and meetings. The ASNT Annual Conference, Research Symposium and numerous thematic conferences attract thousands of participants each year. The Society also produces and distributes NDT books, standards, technical journals, and training materials.
