Inkia Energy is consolidating its position as the largest renewable energy generator in Peru , driving forward an ambitious expansion plan. Through its subsidiary Kallpa, the company has obtained environmental approval to expand the Sunny solar project in southern Peru. This expansion will increase the capacity of the solar park from 228 MWp to 338 MWp , with a view to it being fully operational by the second half of 2025.
Peru’s Solar Hub will contribute 1 GWp to the national system
Inkia has signed renewable energy (I-REC) and power purchase agreements for two other adjacent solar projects. With this series of initiatives, the company is creating the “Solar Hub of Peru” , which will allow around 1 GWp of renewable energy to flow into the National Interconnected System starting in the fourth quarter of 2025.
To further strengthen its commitment to the renewable sector, the company plans to introduce two wind projects in 2026, which will add 600 MW to its capacity . These developments, together with other solar projects and battery storage systems (BESS) , will enable the company to offer a reliable and continuous electricity supply, combining renewable energy with its highly efficient natural gas infrastructure, which is key to covering the intermittency of solar and wind energy.
Inkia also seeks to meet the needs of the SME segment through Kondu, its “behind the meter” energy solutions division. This expansion, called Inkia 2.0, reinforces its value proposition of providing sustainable and reliable solutions for the Peruvian market.
