Arevon breaks ground on Gibson solar project in Indiana

The solar project will occupy an area equivalent to about 1,800 soccer fields.

Arevon Energy, Inc. has begun construction of the ambitious Gibson Solar Project in Gibson County, Indiana. This 251 MWdc capacity project represents a $250 million investment and promises significant benefits to the local community, from creating more than 250 construction jobs to generating revenue for local needs.

Arevon and NIPSCO on the Gibson solar project

The Gibson Solar Project, once operational, will provide clean energy to more than 30,000 Indiana homes each year. This initiative is part of Arevon’s commitment to the transition toward sustainable energy across the United States. In addition, local landowners are expected to benefit from diversified revenues over the life of the project.

The inaugural event was attended by key figures such as Congressman Larry Bucshon and Gibson Economic Development President Tami Hack, who highlighted the positive impact of this project on the state’s economy and sustainability.

The construction of the Gibson Solar Project Project also marks the strengthening of the partnership between Arevon and Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), who will manage the project upon completion. This joint effort underscores the growing importance of renewable energy. renewable energy in the Midwest region of the United States, boosting both the local economy and the transition to a greener future.
