This technology aims to create “perfect” electric motors
The technology company MAHLE has launched an innovative technology kit for electric motors that combines the advantages of its reference models, the SCT (Superior Continuous Torque) and the MCT (Magnet-Free Contactless Transmitter).
This innovative combination represents the perfect fusion in motor engineering, offering consistently high peak power, non-contact and wear-free power transmission, eliminating the use of rare earths and unmatched efficiency.
The SCT electric motor is currently the only one on the market capable of continuously providing high power, which makes it especially attractive for commercial vehicles. On the other hand, the MCT electric motor does not require rare earth elements and operates with outstanding efficiency and wear-free.
Development of a thermal management module.
MAHLE has introduced a novel technology in electric motors and along with it has developed a thermal management module that includes several crucial components for heat management in a single unit. This integrated solution not only saves space and reduces development costs, but also significantly improves system efficiency.
By using the MAHLE module in combination with a heat pump, up to 20% more autonomy can be achieved compared to pure electric heating systems. In addition, the increased cooling capacity improves the speed of charging.
It is important to mention that MAHLE will present both products for the first time at the IAA mobility fair in September, where topics related to environmentally friendly components for combustion engines will also be discussed.
With an open outlook on technology, the Stuttgart-based company focuses on meeting the demands of global markets. Its strategic focus is on electrification, thermal management and the development of highly efficient and sustainable internal combustion engines .
MAHLE sees almost three times the sales potential in the market for battery electric vehicles compared to vehicles with combustion engines. The company focuses on electric and smart drive systems, as well as the development of charging technologies. Its goal is to improve the range and performance of electric vehicles, in addition to advancing fast charging capacity and charging convenience.
