The President of Turkey (Türkiye), Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced this week, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the discovery of a new oil field in the region of Mount Gaba, in the province of Sirnak, Anadolu agency reports.
According to the president, it is estimated that the net volume of the newly discovered reserves amounts to about 150 million barrels, with an estimated value of around 12,000 million dollars.
“This is one of the 10 largest fields discovered on land in 2022,” said the Turkish leader, who revealed during the InovaLIG innovation awards ceremony that the country plans to increase national oil production to 100,000 barrels per day. in 2023.
