The German company Volkswagen announced that by 2030 it will stop assembling vehicles with manual gearboxes, promoting the sale of zero-emission cars.

This change is due to the fact that the European Union will prohibit the registration of fossil fuel vehicles from 2035, so the German company has decided to design a plan to anticipate this event five years, starting with the production of two models without a box manual gearbox.

The German firm, among other automotive brands, follows the trend of electrification, with new models of vehicles with automatic transmission, more practical, comfortable and efficient for drivers.

The German company plans to offer only automatic versions of its Tiguan, Passat and Golf models from 2023; however, until at least 2030, it will continue to produce cars with manual gear changes.
