The delivered system was designed for the generation of 3.6 tons of hydrogen per day, with a purity of 99.99%, including five electrolyzer stacks of 5 MW each. It also incorporates advanced mechanisms for storage and distribution, supporting the integration of hydrogen in multiple energy applications, including refueling stations and blends with natural gas for industrial and domestic consumption.
Located in Weifang, China, the project aims to reduce renewable energy waste and increase the resilience of the power grid. As part of China’s national initiative “ Hydrogen in Ten Thousand Households ,” this facility marks the first demonstration of large-scale energy storage in the country.
Hygreen Energy CEO Benny Wang underlined the importance of the project as a model for future green hydrogen initiatives: “ This successful delivery validates the role of large-scale electrolyser systems and highlights Hygreen’s reliable technology for projects around the world .” In addition, the company is moving forward with another 40 MW contract to further expand its footprint in the Chinese market.
